EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:
Education is one of the prime needs of our society because it is where the source enlightment there it is very importantly the source socio economic development. The nations that are ahead in education have touched new targets of development and prosperity. The examples of advanced nations of USA, Europe and developing states like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are necessary examples to be cited.
In Pakistan only 33% population is literate while rest is uneducated. In rural areas this ratio is severely decreased and portraying a dismal picture. The literacy ratio among the girls is alarmingly low creating the impression of an uneducated society.
The SSSWA is dreaming an educated society both qualitatively and quantatively too. This is dreaming of maximum literacy ratio in every segment of society there it too is fully endorsing of imparting of quality education to be equipped with latest norms and techniques. Following are the main objectives of educational development program
To ensure the education as strong need for all.
• To enable masses to be the active participants in the marathon of receiving education.
• To mobilize parent to ensure the need of education as a binding need for their children.
• To establish formal and non-formal schools and adult literacy centers in the areas where the communities are bare of this need.
• To open non formal schools in co ordination with the community and ensure their ownership.
• To build capacities of primary teachers and school management committees for promoting the quality of education
• Establish 20 non pursuing the above objectives the SSSWA is
preceding n marathon for year 2002 and onwards till now penetrate in society and strive with all possible resources to impart quality education in society. It therefore went to peruse the cited task with federal ministry of education to initiate 20 non formal units in different parts of district Shaheed Benazir Abad.
These 20 non formal units are operating with full fervor and procuring immensely fine results. Hitherto 8000 girls have been educated; they in return of education have attained jobs or involved themselves with different professions. The efforts have brought a milestone of socio economic sustainability in the rural areas and our society in Gernal.
The SSSWA has also crossed another landmark when it collaborated with USAID to start a project of strengthening the school management committees in total 70 school management committees were addressed in this program. 30 no of School management were fully trained and their compatibilities were also accordingly developed.
During the process of SMC development 70 teachers of different areas of district Shaheed Benazir Abad were also accordingly trained and their compatibilities were also developed.
