CHILD
RIGHTS PROGRAM:
While advocating the human and women
rights the SSSWA championed the cause of the
children suffering from different social
maladies. The SSSWA found that due to low
literacy and parent’s unawareness their
children do mingle in quite harmful acts
from the very beginning of the start of
their growing age causing a great social
menace. At the time when they
should have books in their hands they are
involved in works like helpers at garages,
Vetter’s at hotels, shoe polishers and many
other such kind of business which put their
academic future at stake.
The SSSWA in collaboration with SPARC has
campaigned against child labor and utilized
different governmental and non governmental
platforms to fight this menace. It hold
workshops, seminars and published brochures,
pamphlets and banners condemning this
criminal act of involving young boys in
labor at their early age.
The campaign lead by the SSSWA brought very mature
response from community as well from public
organizations for equipping the children
with books instead of working at outlets and
bazaars.
